About this fabric

This plain velvet reads as a very dark aubergine, with plum and blackened purple tones shifting across the nap as the light moves. The 100% polyester composition and 30,000 Martindale rating make it well suited to demanding contract interiors, while the supplied back coating to Cigarette & Match to BS5852 adds an important practical specification. Although it sits in a plain design style, the pile texture gives the colourway a softly striated appearance rather than a flat block of colour. Wipeable or professional dry clean in situ care helps keep the rich surface looking clean and even.

How to use it

Use this colourway on statement seating, banquettes or panelled headboards where the dark aubergine tone can feel enveloping rather than heavy. It pairs especially well with bronze, walnut and textured neutrals, which lift the velvet's inky depth.
