Porter & Stone

Luxor FR Amethyst

Shimmer FR Fabric

Luxor FR Amethyst pairs a deep plum-purple ground with warm gold shimmer, creating a moiré-like woven effect that feels moody and opulent. The large flowing vertical motif gives the swatch real movement, with the metallic yarn catching the light as the angle changes.

About this fabric

This Shimmer FR fabric from Porter & Stone is made from 93% polyester and 7% lurex, with a 140cm width and a 35.5cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat. In this colourway, the amethyst base reads as a dark, smoky purple rather than a bright jewel tone, while the lurex introduces a subtle antique-gold glint across the surface. The woven pattern has a textured, almost rippling feel, with repeated vertical plumes that soften the geometry and make the cloth feel more tailored than literal. The overall effect is glamorous but restrained, with enough depth to hold its own on a statement chair or upholstered panel.

How to use it

Use it on a curved accent chair, ottoman, or dining seats where the gold highlights can catch daylight. It also works beautifully for lined curtains in a room with walnut, bronze, or dark-painted joinery.

A rich, metallic weave that adds depth and drama to statement upholstery or evening drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Luxor FR Amethyst without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
