Amberley Stripe Madder

Highgrove by Sanderson Stripes FabricSAF0477-03

Amberley Stripe Madder pairs a deep madder ground with crisp cream striping for a look that feels tailored and characterful. The weave has a textured, softly dry surface that keeps the stripe from reading too stark.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Highgrove by Sanderson Stripes collection has a usable width of 142 cm, a horizontal pattern repeat of 20 cm, and a substantial 500 gsm weight. The stripe runs vertically across the cloth in alternating blocks of rich madder red and narrow cream lines, giving the design a neat, rhythmic order. The colourway reads warm rather than blue-toned, with a slightly muted red that feels grounded and heritage-led. At 21 threads per cm, the woven structure shows a fine, tactile grain that softens the contrast between the stripes.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, bench cushion, or tailored blind where the madder red can add warmth without overwhelming the room. It sits especially well with painted timber, aged brass, and natural linen in cream or stone.

A confident striped weave that balances rich colour with a tailored, country-house feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
