Ludlow Charcoal

Cascata Fabric

Ludlow Charcoal has a tightly woven, small-scale geometric look with a cool charcoal ground and pale motif detail. The overall effect is crisp and orderly, with just enough contrast to give the pattern definition.

About this fabric

This colourway pairs a soft charcoal grey background with lighter, chalky motif accents, so the design reads neat and refined rather than harsh. The small repeat of 1.2cm vertically and 2cm horizontally creates a compact, all-over rhythm that works well in rooms needing quiet structure. Woven in 50% Polyester 50% Cotton and measuring 140cm wide, it has the practical balance and width expected of a versatile furnishing fabric. The texture visible in the swatch is slightly nubby and matt, which helps the pattern feel grounded and easy to live with.

How to use it

Use Ludlow Charcoal on a streamlined armchair, bench seat or Roman blind where the small pattern can add interest without overpowering the room. Its cool grey tone sits especially well with pale plaster, oak and black accents.

A neat small-scale pattern that suits tailored upholstery or crisp curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ludlow Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
