Ludlow Dove

Cascata Fabric

Ludlow Dove shows a delicate small-scale damask in a pale dove-grey palette, with the pattern sitting quietly against a lightly textured ground. The overall effect is crisp, airy and understated rather than high-contrast.

About this fabric

This colourway of Cascata by Fryett's Fabrics has a soft grey base lifted by a gentle ivory motif, giving the surface a cool, chalky appearance. The design reads as a compact damask with a 1.2cm vertical repeat and 2cm horizontal repeat, so the pattern stays fine and neat across the cloth. Woven in 50% polyester and 50% cotton, it has the practical balance and clean handle expected of a decorative fabric, and the 140cm width makes it straightforward for making up. The restrained tone feels fresh and smart, with enough texture in the weave to keep the pale colour from looking flat.

How to use it

Use this dove grey on tailored cushions, dining chairs or a Roman blind where the small repeat can add pattern without visual weight. It pairs especially well with white-painted woodwork, pale oak and deeper graphite accents.

A refined pale neutral that layers easily with oak, chalk white and muted metallics.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ludlow Dove without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
