About this fabric

Mercury Willow from Fryett's Fabrics’ Glamour collection is a 100% polyester fabric, 140cm wide, with a 20cm pattern repeat and care code AQV8<. The swatch shows a highly reflective taupe-grey base with silvery glints and darker shadowed folds that give the pattern a fluid, almost hammered-metal effect. Its surface reads smooth and glossy rather than plush, making the abstract pattern feel bold and contemporary. The overall tone is muted but luminous, so it brings depth without the warmth of beige or the softness of a plain neutral.

How to use it

Pair this smoky willow taupe with walnut woods, smoked glass and matte black accents for a polished scheme. It works especially well on occasional chairs, scatter cushions or a statement headboard where the sheen can do the talking.

Use for statement seating or cushions where the pearly sheen and soft taupe tones can catch the light.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
