About this fabric

This fabric has a 140cm width and a substantial woven handle suited to upholstery, with a decorative repeat of 39.5cm vertical by 35cm horizontal. The composition blends 50% polyester, 43% cotton and 7% linen, which helps create the crisp definition and subtly dry surface seen in the swatch. In this colourway, the damask reads as deep charcoal with lighter grey patterning, giving the surface a cool, moody contrast rather than a bright metallic effect. The raised motif appears clear and orderly across the cloth, making it feel tailored and formal.

How to use it

Use Ladywell Charcoal on statement armchairs, a headboard or dining chairs where the dark grey ground can anchor a room. It also works well against chalky paint, polished wood and brushed metal finishes.

Pair with pale wood and crisp neutrals to let the charcoal damask stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
