Porter & Stone

Lava Silver

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Lava Silver pairs a dark grey ground with a bright, web-like silver pattern that catches the light across the surface. The effect is graphic and slightly irregular, with a cool metallic finish that keeps the design feeling modern.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is woven in 93% polyester and 7% lurex, giving the silver detailing a subtle shimmer against the deeper grey base. At 140cm wide, it offers a practical width for both statement upholstery and drapery projects. The pattern repeat is 35.5cm vertically and 36cm horizontally, and the large, branching motif reads like fine crackled lines or frost across stone. In this colourway, the silver sits on the cooler side of neutral, so the overall effect is crisp rather than warm, with just enough sheen to lift the texture.

How to use it

Use Lava Silver to add contrast in a scheme of charcoal, glass, and pale timber, where the metallic threads can echo other cool finishes. It also works well as an accent on occasional chairs or full-length curtains when you want pattern without heavy colour.

The cool metallic threads lift the dark ground, giving this graphic weave a crisp, contemporary feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
