Porter & Stone

Lava Teal

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Lava Teal has a dark, inky teal ground threaded with fine metallic-looking gold flashes and a loose, scribbled abstract pattern. The overall effect is moody and vivid, with the lurex catching the light against the deeper background.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is 140cm wide and made from 93% polyester and 7% lurex, giving the surface a subtle sheen that suits the metallic highlights visible in the design. The repeat measures 35.5cm vertical by 36cm horizontal, and the pattern reads as a layered tangle of teal-grey lines over a near-black base, punctuated by irregular gold marks. In this colourway, the teal sits cool and smoky rather than bright, so the metallic detail feels more embers-in-darkness than polished brass. The weave and finish look versatile enough for upholstery or drapery, especially where you want the movement of the pattern to show at close range.

How to use it

Use Lava Teal on an accent chair, bench or cushions to bring depth to a pared-back room. It also works well as full-length curtains in a dimmer space, where the gold threads will softly glint against the dark teal ground.

Use for statement upholstery or dramatic drapery where the gold shimmer can catch the light.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
