Montrose Melton Gold

Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Gold has a warm ochre-gold tone, enriched by fine rust and amber flecks across its close, softly mottled surface. The subtle variation gives this plain textile a gently textured, tactile character.

About this fabric

The swatch shows a close melton-like weave with no discernible printed motif, creating an even surface with softly clouded tonal variation. Its ochre-gold ground leans warmly orange, while small rust, amber and brown flecks add depth without making the colour look bright or saturated. The texture catches the light in fine shifts, giving the surface a softly tactile appearance rather than a flat finish. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use this warm ochre-gold on an upholstered chair, sofa or ottoman, pairing its rust-orange depth with walnut, aged leather or muted cream textiles.

The close, flecked melton-like surface reads as a substantial upholstery textile.

Pairs well with

Montrose Melton Gold is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
