Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Thunder is a deep blue-grey textile with a cool, shadowed character. Its softly mottled surface gives the plain colour subtle movement without introducing a visible pattern.

About this fabric

The close, gently napped texture reads as a dense melton-like surface, with fine tonal variation across the charcoal-blue ground. In this Thunder colourway, blue and grey sit together in a muted, low-light shade rather than a bright or saturated navy. The subtle surface shifts between smoky blue and deeper graphite as the light moves across it. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this cool, dark blue-grey on a statement armchair, sofa or ottoman, pairing it with pale stone, warm timber and brushed metal to soften its depth. It also works well as a grounding upholstery shade in rooms with low-contrast, tonal schemes.

Use this deep blue-grey upholstery on occasional chairs, sofas or ottomans where its quiet, softly textured depth can anchor a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
