Bear Balsam

Volume Fabric

Bear Balsam presents a deep teal-green ground with softly shifting, cloud-like tonal variation across the surface. Its close texture catches the light unevenly, giving the colour quiet depth rather than a flat, saturated finish.

About this fabric

This Volume fabric reads as a muted blue-green, balancing the coolness of teal with a softened, earthy cast. The visible surface has a brushed, lightly napped appearance, with pale and darker patches moving subtly across the swatch. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this exact fabric, so suitability should be confirmed against the intended upholstery application. The restrained variation makes Bear Balsam feel composed and textural rather than decorative or high-contrast.

How to use it

Use Bear Balsam to bring a calm, atmospheric teal-green note to an upholstered chair, sofa or headboard. Pair it with oak, aged brass, warm ivory and woven natural textures to temper its cool depth.

Use this subdued teal-green upholstery on a statement chair or sofa, with warm timber and natural neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
