About this colour

At #040E0F, Jack Black sits just off true black, with a green-blue undertone that shows most in daylight. On a wall it absorbs a great deal of light, so the colour stays dense and close, especially in smaller rooms or on joinery. In a north-facing room it can feel even cooler and more shadowed, while in south-facing light the blue-green cast becomes clearer without losing its depth. It sits well beside walnut, dark oak, brass, and sharply tailored upholstery, where its tone gives the surrounding materials more definition.

How to use it

Use Jack Black on fitted joinery, panelling, or a feature wall in a library, study, or hallway. It works neatly with pale linens, camel leathers, and dark stained wood, and gives crisp contrast to patterned curtains or upholstery in muted greens, blues, or reds.

A very dark, cool black that makes nearby colours and woodwork read with more clarity.
