Wemyss Fuzzy in 12 Peat is a deep, near-black textile with a softly irregular surface that creates subtle movement across the swatch. Its charcoal tone absorbs light in the recesses while the raised texture catches it gently.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a muted peat black rather than a flat, pure black, with fine charcoal variation visible throughout the close surface. Short, uneven ridges run across the fabric, giving it a dense, tactile appearance without a separate printed motif. As the light shifts, the nap alternates between softer grey-black highlights and deeper shadowed areas. No further performance or construction specification is supplied for this fabric, so the visible dense texture is the clearest guide to its upholstery character.

How to use it

Use 12 Peat on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its deep charcoal-black tone can anchor a room without the starkness of a uniform jet black. Pair it with warm timber, aged brass and lighter textured textiles to bring out the peat-like warmth in its dark surface.

A deep peat-black upholstery textile whose softly rippled surface adds quiet texture to contemporary seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
