Smalt

This shade reads as a cool, saturated blue with a low-luminous depth that absorbs more light than it reflects. On a wall, #29467B feels steady and enclosed rather than bright, with enough colour to hold its shape beside pale neutrals, oak, walnut, brass and dark painted woodwork. In a north-facing room it can turn moodier and more slate-like, taking on a cooler, quieter cast; in south light it shows more of its blue body and feels cleaner and more open, though still firmly deep. It sits well beside natural linens, ticking, velvet and patterned upholstery in stone, ink, tobacco and muted green tones.
