Little Greene

Grey Stone

Blues Paint

Grey Stone is a restrained blue from Little Greene with a clear grey note, so it sits quietly rather than brightly. It belongs to the Blues range, but its softened finish on the eye makes it feel useful and calm in a room.

About this colour

This shade reads as a cool, weathered blue with enough grey in it to stop it feeling sharp, and the #8AA0AD value gives it a mid-light presence that still holds its own on a wall. In north-facing light it will look cooler and more muted, with the grey becoming more obvious. In south-facing rooms the blue comes forward a little more and the colour feels fresher without turning vivid. It works well beside pale oak, smoked timber and darker stained woodwork, and it also sits neatly against navy, mushroom and soft cream upholstery.

How to use it

Grey Stone suits a sitting room, study or bedroom where you want the walls to feel composed and easy to live with. It is especially good with painted joinery, linen curtains and upholstery in oatmeal, slate, indigo or deep teal.

On a wall, Grey Stone gives a cool blue-grey that stays calm rather than dominant.
