About this fabric

The design combines repeating botanical sprays with scrolling stems, scalloped leafy forms and larger flower heads, creating a medium-scale ornamental repeat. In this Noir colourway, the near-black background gives the pattern considerable depth, while the subdued gold, tobacco, grey and dusty rose accents keep the floral detail from looking stark. The visible surface has a compact, textured woven appearance that supports its upholstery classification. No composition, width or performance specification is supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Melodie - Noir on a statement armchair, occasional chair or upholstered headboard where its black ground can anchor lighter walls and warm timber. Echo the muted ochre and tobacco flowers with aged brass, walnut and softly coloured textiles rather than bright accents.

A richly detailed black ground with softly aged floral colour, suited to statement upholstery in a layered, traditional room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
