Sérénade - Encre

Belle Époque Fabric6493-05

Sérénade - Encre pairs a pale blush-pink ground with richly detailed ink-blue butterflies, flowering stems and fine trailing foliage. The contrast gives the design a cool, illustrated depth while keeping the overall impression light.

About this fabric

This fabric features a lively natural-history composition, with butterflies in varied poses woven visually through slender branches, blossoms and small flying insects. The pale blush background makes the dark blue linework particularly clear, while the dense placement creates an expressive all-over pattern rather than a sparse motif. As a fabric with a fine, smooth-looking printed surface, it reads especially well for curtains and other softly gathered applications. Its ink-blue tone brings definition and a slightly antique character without losing the delicacy of the pink ground.

How to use it

Hang Sérénade - Encre at a window where its blush background can catch natural light, then echo the ink-blue detail in a narrow trim, painted joinery or patterned cushion.

Use the pale blush ground to soften rooms, balancing its ink-blue butterflies with ivory, navy or warm wood.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
