Siam Umber

Eclectic Fabric

Siam Umber reads as a quiet, smoky brown across the swatch, with a darker ground and softly lifted botanical forms. The large leafy silhouettes are tonal rather than sharply contrasted, giving the pattern depth without brightness.

About this fabric

Siam Umber is a deep, muted brown with a slightly grey cast, rather than a warm reddish umber. Large branching stems and layered, elongated leaves form a low-contrast botanical repeat, with the motif emerging through a subtle change in surface and tone. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use the smoky umber on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtain where its subdued botanical pattern can add depth without overwhelming the room. Pair it with warm wood and softly contrasting neutral textiles to bring out the colour’s grey-brown character.

A smoky umber ground and tonal foliage bring quiet depth to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
