Timeless Velvets Velvet

Urbane Carnelian is a richly burnished rust-orange velvet with a quiet, even surface. Its subtle directional pile creates gentle shifts between lighter coppery highlights and deeper earthen shade.

About this fabric

Catalogued as a Velvet, Urbane Carnelian has a close, softly lustrous surface with no visible printed motif. The warm carnelian tone sits between copper, rust and deep terracotta, giving the plain cloth a distinctly grounded depth. Fine changes in the pile direction add tonal movement across the swatch, while the overall colour remains saturated and enveloping.

How to use it

Use Urbane Carnelian on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its warm rust-orange tone can anchor cream, tobacco, walnut and aged-brass accents. The velvet’s burnished shading also suits intimate, low-lit rooms that benefit from a deeper terracotta note.

A burnished rust-orange velvet suited to upholstered seating, headboards and statement furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
