Sunflower Velvet Saffron/Vellum combines a deep saffron-rust ground with ornate vellum-coloured flowers, curling foliage and clustered fruit. Its dense velvet surface gives the warm colour a softly shaded, tactile depth.

About this fabric

The scrolling floral design is clearly defined in pale vellum against the saturated saffron-rust ground, with tulip-like blooms, leaves, berries and central floral medallions repeating across the cloth. With a 62cm vertical repeat and 66.5cm horizontal repeat, the pattern has a substantial, orderly scale that suits feature upholstery. The 416gsm velvet has a weighty handle for seating and other hard-working upholstered pieces, while its 134cm usable width allows efficient cutting. A specification of 57.7 threads per cm supports the closely detailed woven appearance visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use the warm, reddish saffron ground to bring depth to a reading chair, headboard or compact sofa, pairing it with vellum, tobacco leather, dark wood or muted olive accents. The pale motifs can also be picked up in lampshades or cushions without losing the velvet’s rich, formal presence.
