About this fabric

This Morris & Co. velvet weighs 480gsm, giving the cloth a substantial handle suited to upholstery. The design is an all-over arrangement of curling stems, stylised leaves, paisley-like sweeps and compact floral motifs, picked out in dark walnut against the blue-green ground. Its 64cm vertical repeat and 52cm horizontal repeat create a clearly decorative rhythm, while the 44 threads per centimetre contribute to the closely detailed surface. The fabric has a 136cm usable width and is supplied in a standard 25m length.

How to use it

Pair this cool, saturated cerulean-teal velvet with walnut timber, aged brass and warm neutral upholstery to balance its dark botanical pattern. It is particularly effective on a reading chair, footstool or compact statement sofa.

Use this deep cerulean and walnut velvet on statement upholstery, where its dense scrolling pattern and rich dark contrast can be fully appreciated.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
