About this fabric

This densely drawn botanical velvet features a deep madder-red ground, bayleaf-green foliage and small fruits in ochre, apricot, blush and muted blue. At 416 gsm, the fabric has a substantial weight well suited to upholstery, while its 133 cm usable width provides generous coverage. The pattern repeats every 62.5 cm vertically and 66 cm horizontally, keeping the branching trails and scattered fruit motifs rhythmically connected across a larger upholstered surface. Its supplied construction is 57.7 threads per cm, supporting the closely detailed appearance of the design.

How to use it

Use the warm, wine-red ground on a statement armchair, headboard or dining seat, pairing it with dark wood and aged brass to emphasise the velvet’s historic, jewel-like depth. Bayleaf-green foliage makes a natural link to olive or moss accents elsewhere in the room.

Use this rich madder-red velvet to bring depth and botanical detail to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fruit Velvet Madder/Bayleaf without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
