About this fabric

This 416gsm velvet has a substantial handle suited to upholstery, with a 133cm usable width for practical cutting. Against the dusky walnut ground, yellow-gold and muted orange fruit stand out beside coral-pink berries, olive leaves and pale grey-green stems. The dense trailing composition repeats every 62.5cm vertically and 66cm horizontally, creating a continuous embroidered-looking botanical field across the cloth. With 57.7 threads per centimetre, the closely formed surface supports the colourway’s richly layered, softly textured appearance.

How to use it

Pair the walnut-charcoal ground with aged timber, warm brass and ochre accents, using it on a reading chair or compact sofa where the gold and coral fruit can be seen at close range. Keep surrounding upholstery quieter so the scrolling foliage remains the focal point.

Use this dark, richly patterned velvet to upholster a statement chair, footstool or occasional sofa.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fruit Velvet Walnut/Bullrush without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
