About this fabric

This Morris & Co. velvet has a 416gsm weight and a 133cm usable width, making it particularly well suited to upholstery. Against the saturated crimson background, paired birds appear in slate, cream and warm russet tones, while ivory blossoms and muted green leaves create a finely balanced contrast. The pattern repeats every 52cm vertically and 44cm horizontally, giving the design a clearly rhythmic, medium-scale appearance across the cloth. Its closely packed botanical detail and deep red palette create a warm, formal depth that works especially well on statement chairs, sofas and footstools.

How to use it

Use the crimson ground as the room’s warm anchor on a reading chair or compact sofa, then pick up the slate birds with cool blue-grey walls or plain cushions. Aged brass, dark wood and muted sage accents will complement the botanical colours without competing with the detailed repeat.
