About this fabric

This substantial 433gsm fabric has a tightly structured feel, reflected in its 30 threads per centimetre. A deep, warm burgundy-madder ground sets off cream and soft blush motifs, while blue-grey foliage adds a cooler note through the interlocking lattice. The pattern repeats vertically every 41cm and horizontally every 34.3cm, creating clearly defined floral medallions across the 137.2cm usable width. Its dense visual depth and heavy woven character make it particularly suited to upholstery.

How to use it

Use Norbury Madder on a statement armchair, dining chair or upholstered headboard where its warm red ground can anchor a room. Balance the ornate lattice with quiet cream, aged wood and blue-grey accents that pick up the cooler threads in the pattern.

Use this richly patterned madder-red textile to bring historic floral detail and strong colour depth to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Norbury Madder without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
