Wardle Velvet Barbed Berry
Wardle Velvets VelvetMOF0191-05
Wardle Velvet Barbed Berry is a deep, saturated red velvet with a smooth, unpatterned face. Its fine nap creates subtle tonal movement across the swatch, shifting between berry shadow and a softer red sheen as the light moves.

About this fabric
This is a plain velvet with a dense 556 gsm handle, giving the surface the visual depth and plush presence expected from a substantial upholstery cloth. The Barbed Berry colour sits between dark red and ripe berry, with a cool, wine-like richness rather than a bright scarlet cast. At 134 cm wide, it offers a generous usable width for upholstered furniture and coordinated panels. The closely formed surface, listed at 51.5 threads per cm, appears finely textured while remaining visually smooth; no contrasting motif or repeat interrupts the colour.
How to use it
Use Barbed Berry on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard where its dark berry-red tone can act as the room’s focal colour. Pair it with warm timber, aged brass and muted pink or taupe accents to soften its saturated depth without losing its luxe character.
A dense berry-red velvet with a softly shifting nap, bringing depth and a rich, polished finish to upholstered furniture.

Pairs well with
Wardle Velvet Barbed Berry is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
