About this fabric

This Webb’s blue colourway has a smoky, slate-leaning tone rather than a bright or saturated blue, giving the symmetrical floral design a quietly dramatic depth. Repeated medallions, scrolling foliage and small flower forms create a richly detailed pattern across the face of the cloth. At 695gsm, with 72 threads per centimetre, it has the substantial presence expected of a heavy upholstery velvet. The fabric has a 134.5cm usable width, while the pattern repeats vertically by 66.5cm and horizontally by 67cm.

How to use it

Use this cool blue-grey velvet on a classic armchair, dining chair or compact sofa where its dense damask can act as the room’s main pattern. Balance the Webb’s blue tone with chalky neutrals, aged timber and warm brass so the velvet’s soft tonal shifts remain visible.

A weighty blue-grey velvet with an ornate damask repeat, suited to statement upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
