Sunflower Caffoy Velvet Barbed Berry

Wardle Velvets VelvetMOF0190-05

Sunflower Caffoy Velvet in Barbed Berry is a richly coloured velvet with a deep wine-red ground and an intricate, tonal botanical pattern. Its plush surface catches the light softly, giving the dense design added depth without introducing a contrasting colour.

About this fabric

The Barbed Berry colourway reads as a warm, saturated burgundy, with darker and lighter red fibres defining the scrolling foliage, floral forms and repeating medallion-like details. At 695gsm, this is a substantial velvet well suited to upholstery, while the 72 threads per centimetre contribute to its closely detailed appearance. The usable width is 134.5cm, and the pattern repeats at 66.5cm vertically by 67cm horizontally. The generous repeat gives the ornate design a measured rhythm across larger upholstered surfaces.

How to use it

Use Barbed Berry on a statement armchair, sofa or footstool where its dark berry tone can anchor a room. Pair it with aged wood, warm brass and quieter blush, brown or parchment textiles to bring out the velvet’s reddish depth.

A weighty berry velvet with a low-contrast botanical damask, suited to statement upholstery and richly layered interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Sunflower Caffoy Velvet Barbed Berry without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
