About this fabric

The colour reads as a muted whale blue rather than a flat neutral, with charcoal depth that becomes subtly lighter where the woven surface catches the light. There is no repeat or printed motif; the visual interest comes entirely from the restrained crosshatch weave. Weighing 394 gsm and measuring 143 cm in usable width, it has the substance suited to upholstered seating. The fabric is constructed at 17 threads per cm, giving the surface a close, finely textured appearance.

How to use it

Pair Mineral Whale with pale stone, chalk and weathered timber for a cool, balanced scheme, or use it against blackened metal and warm oak to emphasise its deep blue-grey tone. Its quiet surface works especially well on tailored sofas, dining chairs and occasional seating.

Use this deep blue-grey plain weave to give tailored upholstery a cool, quietly architectural finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
