Balmoral - Claret

Misc Fabric

Balmoral - Claret is a richly layered checked fabric in deep claret red, crossed with muted olive, brown and charcoal-toned lines. Its close, softly irregular weave gives the pattern a gently weathered depth rather than a sharp graphic finish.

About this fabric

The design forms a compact check, with fine horizontal and vertical lines breaking the claret ground into subtly varied squares. Deep red remains the dominant tone, while olive, brown and charcoal threads soften the contrast and give the surface a mellow, shaded appearance. The visible woven texture adds a lightly brushed, tactile quality that makes the colourway read as warm and grounded. Its substantial-looking surface and defined check make it particularly well suited to upholstery applications.

How to use it

Use Balmoral - Claret on a reading chair, footstool or traditional sofa where its deep red tone can anchor a room. Pair it with aged oak, dark-painted furniture, warm neutrals and small touches of olive to draw out the quieter lines in the check.

Use this deep claret check on a statement armchair, sofa or bench with warm timber and muted olive accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Balmoral - Claret without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
