About this fabric

The fabric shows a medium-scale plaid built from broad, softened bands and finer crosshatch lines rather than sharply defined checks. Warm beige and clay tones dominate, while muted blue-grey verticals add a cool counterpoint and give the surface subtle depth. The weave is visibly textured, with small variations in the lines that keep the pattern from looking flat or printed. No composition, width or performance figures are supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Barden - Clay where a warm neutral is wanted but a plain fabric would feel too quiet: it can cover a relaxed armchair or sofa, or add softly checked fullness to curtains. Pair its clay and oatmeal tones with natural timber, warm whites and restrained blue-grey accents.

The warm clay ground and softened blue-grey checks bring an understated, textured character to upholstery and drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
