About this fabric

This catalogued fabric is woven in a very dark brown shade, with subtle warm brown flecks appearing between the deeper threads. The small-scale herringbone pattern is visible without becoming decorative or busy, giving the cloth a composed, tailored character. Its low-contrast surface absorbs much of the light while allowing occasional threads to catch softly. The result is a rich, understated colourway with considerable visual depth.

How to use it

Use Chocolate - 2002/16 on a structured armchair, sofa or dining seat where its dark chocolate tone can provide a grounded, tailored anchor. Pair it with warm timber, aged brass and lighter neutral walls to keep the near-black brown from feeling heavy.

Its near-black chocolate tone and fine herringbone texture suit tailored upholstery and quietly refined interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
