Milton Charcoal/Flint

Byron Wools FabricSAF0089-05

Milton Charcoal/Flint shows a crisp checked layout in layered greys, from pale flint to deeper charcoal. The brushed, woolly surface softens the geometry and gives the design a calm, tailored feel.

About this fabric

This colourway balances a light grey ground with darker charcoal lines, so the check reads clean and restrained rather than stark. The woven surface has a soft, slightly brushed handle that suits the wool-rich character of the cloth, while the 275gsm weight gives it enough substance for upholstery. With a usable width of 140 cm, a standard length of 50 m, and a repeat of 17.5 cm vertically by 18.5 cm horizontally, it is a practical scale for chairs, cushions and contemporary tailored schemes. The fine 36.8 threads per cm help the check look neat and precise, while the muted tones keep the overall effect cool and understated.

How to use it

Use Milton Charcoal/Flint on a sofa, slipper chair or banquette where the structured check can sharpen a room without feeling busy. It pairs especially well with painted wood, pale oak and other soft grey textiles.

A cool, tailored check that works well on classic seating and pared-back interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
