About this fabric

Woven at 275 gsm with a usable width of 140 cm, this fabric has enough substance for upholstery while still feeling suitable for drapery and soft furnishings. The check is set on a pale stone base, with indigo lines that read crisp but slightly softened by the textured wool weave. Its 17.5 cm vertical and 18.5 cm horizontal repeat creates a clear, generous plaid that feels classic rather than busy. Threads per cm are 36.8, giving the cloth a compact, tidy surface that suits the restrained colour contrast.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an armchair, window seat or loose cover where the stone ground can brighten a room. The indigo grid adds structure alongside natural timber, oatmeal paint and deep blue accents.

Pair with oak, brushed metal and plain linens for a grounded country look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Milton Indigo/Stone without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
