About this colour

This shade reads as a softened green with a restrained yellow-grey base, so it sits comfortably between sage and olive. In north-facing light it can look quieter and slightly cooler, with the grey note coming forward; in south-facing rooms the yellow warmth is more apparent and the colour feels fuller and more sunlit. It does not bounce light around the room, but it also does not close a space in, which makes it useful where you want colour without heaviness. On walls it works well beside natural oak, aged brass, stone and linen-toned upholstery, and on woodwork it gives a grounded, tailored finish in both Active Emulsion and Waterbased Eggshell.

How to use it

Artichoke suits sitting rooms, studies and pantries where a settled green is wanted. It pairs neatly with tan leather, mid-tone timber, and curtains or chairs in warm neutrals, mossier greens or muted terracotta.

A soft olive green that feels calm and grounded on a wall.
