About this colour

This shade reads as a cool, slightly softened blue with enough grey in it to stop it feeling sharp. The #88A6C2 value gives it a clear presence on the wall, but it still lifts the room rather than closing it down. In a north-facing room it will look cooler and more muted, with the grey note becoming more obvious. In south-facing light it opens out and shows more of its blue, while still staying restrained. It sits neatly beside pale oak, walnut, chalky whites and upholstered pieces in stone, flax or navy tones.

How to use it

Use it on walls in a sitting room, study or bedroom where you want colour with a quiet, tailored feel. It suits painted joinery in crisp white or the same blue, and looks especially good alongside linen, wool and dark wood furniture.

A steady blue that brings colour without feeling heavy on the wall.

Pairs well with

Whitby Blue is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
