About this colour

This shade reads as a muted olive-brown with a warm yellow base, so it feels earthy rather than bright or grassy. It absorbs more light than it reflects, which gives walls a cocooning depth without making the colour feel heavy. In north-facing rooms it can turn more subdued and brown-leaning, with the green restrained by cooler light. In south-facing light it opens out, showing more of its olive warmth and a little more clarity beside natural wood, aged brass, cream upholstery and deeper greens.

How to use it

It suits sitting rooms, studies and dining rooms where you want a colour that feels composed and lived-in. It works well beside oak, walnut and painted joinery, and alongside upholstery in flax, russet, charcoal or softened teal.

A warm olive like this gives walls a settled, understated depth.
