About this colour

This shade reads as a soft, cool-leaning green with enough warmth in it to stop it feeling stark, and the grey in the mix keeps it from turning sugary or vivid. On a wall, it reflects a moderate amount of light, so it lightens a room without washing out the colour. In a north-facing room it will look deeper and more restrained, with the cooler side of the green coming forward. In south-facing light it softens and warms slightly, showing more of its calm, leafy note beside natural wood, stone, or painted joinery. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it suits both walls and woodwork where a steady, upholstered-room feel is wanted.

How to use it

Green Grotto works well in sitting rooms, libraries, and bedrooms, especially alongside walnut, oak, or painted trims in off-white. It also sits neatly with checked wool, linen curtains, and upholstered chairs in taupe, sage, or faded terracotta.
