Mali 4

African Skies Fabric

Mali 4 is a richly saturated indigo fabric with a lively geometric repeat in teal and ivory. The contrast feels crisp against the dark ground, giving the design a cool, graphic presence.

About this fabric

This Titley & Marr fabric from the African Skies collection is shown here in a deep blue ground with repeating tribal-style geometric bands, dotted accents, and small ivory motifs. The woven-looking surface has a matte, textile feel that softens the strong pattern and keeps the overall effect grounded rather than glossy. Teal zigzags and maze-like vertical stripes break up the indigo field, while the pale motif adds clean contrast and makes the design read clearly from a distance. With no performance features noted, it is presented here as a decorative fabric rather than a technical upholstery cloth.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern to energise a room without brightening it too much; the indigo base keeps it moody and composed. It works well with warm timber, natural linen and cream upholstery to balance the cool teal notes.

Pair with natural wood and pale neutrals to let the indigo and teal pattern stay lively.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
