Antique-Linen Bitter

Antique-Linen Fabric

Antique-Linen Bitter is a deep, muted brown with a subtle charcoal cast, shown here falling into soft, generous folds. Its fine, even weave gives the surface a quiet linen-like texture rather than a pronounced pattern.

About this fabric

The near-black brown tone has a softened, earthy quality, with lighter threads becoming visible where the folds catch the light. A fine, closely woven surface is clearly visible across the flatter areas of the swatch, while the cloth gathers into fluid, relaxed movement. This colourway reads deeper and cooler than a warm tan, making it suited to calm, low-contrast interiors. No composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Antique-Linen Bitter for full-length curtains in a room with pale plaster, warm timber or brushed metal, allowing its charcoal-brown depth to anchor the scheme without introducing a strong pattern.

Use its deep bitter-brown tone for softly gathered curtains that bring quiet depth and a natural, understated mood to the room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
