Angers Fabric

Angers Antique has a weathered taupe-brown ground covered with large, softly detailed floral and scrolling motifs. Its layered cream, sage, dusty red and ochre accents give the surface the character of an aged textile panel.

About this fabric

Catalogued as Fabric, Angers Antique has a visibly substantial woven handle, with fine crosswise texture showing between the larger motifs. The dominant taupe-brown tone reads muted and earthy rather than dark, allowing the pale floral forms to remain clearly defined. Cream and faded sage areas catch the light across the folds, while restrained red and ochre marks add warmth without making the colourway feel bright. The generous floral scale and softly irregular, tapestry-like appearance make this colourway particularly suited to upholstered pieces where its depth can be seen across a larger surface.

How to use it

Use Angers Antique on a reading chair, occasional sofa or upholstered headboard, then draw out its taupe ground with warm wood and echo the faded sage and dusty red in cushions or painted furniture.

Pair the weathered taupe ground with warm timber, aged brass and muted, heritage-toned accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
