About this fabric

The colour sits between blue and grey, with a muted opal character rather than a bright or saturated blue. Its smooth face catches the light along the raised folds, creating a restrained satin-like glow against the darker recessed areas. The plain surface has no visible motif, allowing the tonal movement created by the folds to define the cloth. The substantial-looking, fluid handle shown here makes it suitable to consider for both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Use Glossy Opal on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtain where its cool blue-grey tone can soften crisp white, stone and charcoal schemes. Add warm timber or aged brass to balance its slightly icy lustre.

Pair its cool slate blue-grey tone with pale stone, brushed metal and deep charcoal for a quietly polished room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
