About this fabric

The close, irregular weave gives this plain fabric a tactile, softly nubby appearance rather than a smooth or polished finish. Its Cassis colouring is restrained and earthy: a muted mauve-brown with a cool plum cast that becomes deeper in the gathered folds. Fine lighter threads break up the surface, adding subtle tonal movement without introducing a visible motif. The substantial-looking woven texture makes it particularly well suited to upholstery, especially where a relaxed, touchable finish is wanted. No composition, width, rub-test or performance specification has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Pair Marni Cassis with warm timber, aged metal and chalky neutrals to draw out its dusty mauve-taupe character. It would give an armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard a softly grounded, tactile finish.

Use this softly shaded mauve-taupe weave to bring tactile depth to upholstered seating and cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
