Velluto Balsa

Velluto Fabric

Velluto Balsa is shown here as a warm taupe-brown velvet, with softly shifting highlights across its folded surface. The plush pile gives the plain colour visible depth, moving from lighter oat-like ridges to deep brown shadows.

About this fabric

The warm taupe-brown tone has an earthy, muted character, sitting between beige and brown rather than reading as a clear grey or cream. Its short pile catches the light along the raised folds, while the recessed areas appear noticeably deeper and more chocolate-toned. The close-up shows a plain velvet surface with no visible motif, making the changing texture and undulation of the cloth the defining feature. No further composition, width, rub-test or performance specification is supplied for this colourway, and no performance features are noted in the supplied data.

How to use it

Use Velluto Balsa on an upholstered chair, sofa or headboard where its warm taupe-brown shade can bring softness without overwhelming a room. Layer it with ivory, camel, walnut and deep brown to echo the tonal movement visible in the pile.

Pair the warm taupe-brown velvet with natural wood, soft creams and darker brown accents for a layered, tactile scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
