Verbier Shale
Verbier Fabric
Verbier Shale is shown here in softly gathered folds, revealing a subdued taupe-grey surface with fine, all-over woven texture. Its shale-like colouring shifts gently between grey and brown as the light moves across the cloth.

About this fabric
The close-up shows a dense-looking woven face built from delicate crosshatched threads rather than a printed motif. Cool grey and muted brown tones combine to create the characteristic shale effect, while the folds bring out slightly lighter and darker passages across the surface. Catalogued as a fabric with no performance features noted, its substantial-looking texture makes it visually well suited to upholstery, subject to project requirements.
How to use it
Pair Verbier Shale with pale stone, chalky white or softened charcoal around a room to emphasise its cool taupe-grey depth. It would bring a calm, tactile finish to an upholstered sofa, headboard or occasional chair.
Use this cool taupe-grey weave to bring quiet depth and tactile softness to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with
Verbier Shale is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
