Azalea Path Archive Chintz

Zoffany x Michael Smith Indoor Outdoor Fabric OutdoorZOF0247-01

Azalea Path Archive Chintz brings a lively archive-style floral to an ivory ground, with coral, red, teal, sage, mauve and ochre blooms woven into a richly varied botanical arrangement. The colourway feels fresh yet gently timeworn, rather than stark or highly saturated.

About this fabric

The design shows clustered peony-like flowers, slender leafy stems and small sprigs in coral, brick red, dusty pink, teal, muted green, mauve and pale ochre, all set against a warm ivory background. Its 52 cm vertical by 69 cm horizontal repeat gives the floral an easy medium scale, with enough variation for the eye to travel across the surface. At 236 gsm and 144 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight textile, while the supplied Outdoor performance makes it suitable for furnishing schemes that need a more practical fabric. The visible surface has a softly textured, substantial look that gently diffuses the darker reds and greens rather than making them appear flat.

How to use it

Pair this ivory-based colourway with natural linen, warm timber and painted furniture, using the teal leaves as a link to blue-green accents and the coral-red flowers for small touches of warmth. It works especially well where a relaxed garden mood is wanted without losing decorative polish.

Use this softly vintage floral in light-filled interiors where its ivory ground and layered jewel-toned blooms can take centre stage.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
