About this fabric

The fabric has a broad, abstract panelled effect, with horizontal and vertical sections moving between near-black charcoal, smoky grey and pale silver-grey. Its brushed-looking surface catches the light unevenly, creating a gently lustrous, almost velvety impression without a sharp pattern outline. The tonal shifts are soft and atmospheric, allowing the darker areas to recede while the silver-grey sections add depth across the upholstery. The substantial appearance shown on the sofa makes this colourway particularly well suited to statement seating and tailored contemporary forms.

How to use it

Pair Marisa Empress with blackened metal, smoked timber and warm grey accessories to reinforce its charcoal depth. Use the silver-grey passages as a cue for cushions or rugs in mineral grey, pewter and soft stone.

Use this dark, softly lustrous colourway to give contemporary upholstery a layered, atmospheric finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
