About this fabric

This fabric is catalogued as Velvet, and the close-up image shows a fine, even pile rather than a woven motif or printed pattern. The colour reads as rich raspberry red, with deeper areas appearing where the pile turns away from the light and brighter red highlights where it catches. That tonal movement gives the otherwise plain surface a plush, dimensional character.
