About this fabric

The Gherkin colourway reads as a dark mossy olive, with cooler green shadows and slightly lighter highlights across the nap. There is no visible motif or printed pattern; instead, the character comes from the fine, softly mottled pile and its directional variation. The close-up reveals a gently irregular surface that gives the solid colour depth without making it look busy. The supplied specification lists this fabric as Velvet, with no performance features noted.

How to use it

Use this deep olive velvet on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard, where its dark green tone can sit alongside warm timber, aged brass and earthy neutrals. Its quietly shifting surface also works well as a rich contrast to crisp cream or pale stone upholstery.

The deep, muted olive tone and softly shifting velvet pile bring a rich, atmospheric finish to sofas, headboards and accent chairs.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
